Palawan Evangelistic Trip
4 posted February 18, 2005 - 10:56 PM
Palawan is a dream of many to visit. For us at Lifeword, it is our first time to come and see the place. From the plane, it looks truly beautiful! You can see the white beaches stretching along the coasts and in the islands nearby, but our purpose of coming is not primarily to tour around the island but to help in the work that Bro. Warren Paguntalan has started just a year ago. The Evangelistic International Ministry headed by Bro. Rocky Goodwin has chosen Palawan as their evangelistic field this year. Bro. Mike Goodwin was scheduled to come but due to some emergency at home, he went back to the states and Bro. Larry Markum took his place. Our three-night concert at the Capitol Square Park was blest by the Lord and we have made around 200 contacts and 80 professions of faith. Only the good Lord knows the real result of the service. He promised that "His words will not return to Him void". Bro. Larry Markum brought the messages and only Ging, Peace, Bon Karis and I provided the singing because the Stillwaters could not come due to finances and schedules. We also had Rachel, the wife of Pastor Paguntalan, to help Ging with the soprano part.
This Sunday we will be visiting our mission here before we go back home. While here in Palawan, I have felt the need of opening a radio broadcast to help our new mission. Lifeword broadcast had been used by God to be an arm for our churches and mission for years. The people here speaks Tagalog (our national language) and it challenged me to continue with the Tagalog broadcast. Pastor Warren and Pastor Gil Gasataya promised to help me in this new broadcast. As the Lord permits, we will have a very promising work here, not only in the capital city of Puerto Princesa but also throughout the whole island. Pray for the Lord of the harvest that He will send more laborers to the field, for truly the harvest is great but the laborers are few.
